Traffic signal at 36th Avenue NW and Havenbrook to be activated Wednesday

A new traffic signal at the intersection of 36th Avenue NW and Havenbrook Street will be activated tomorrow between noon and 1 p.m., weather permitting. The intersection will be controlled by all-way stop signs as crews work in the intersection to install remaining intersection pavement markings and to turn traffic signal heads to line up with traffic lanes.

The $1,105,800 project is funded with 80% federal funds and 20% capital funds, and the construction is being administered by Jacobs Engineering on behalf of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. When the project is completed, the City of Norman will operate and maintain the new traffic signal.

For questions about the construction project, contact Michael Rayburn, at 217-7713.  For questions specific to traffic signal operation, contact Traffic Engineer David Riesland, at 329-0528.
