Restriping and Pavement Markings Enhancement Project Begins Today

A project to restripe and replace pavement markings at multiple locations throughout the city begins today. Among the first sites to have markings replaced will be Jenkins Avenue south of Boyd Street and Robinson Street, just east of Crossroads Boulevard.

The project, which is expected to take 30 calendar days to complete, includes reapplying marking materials to enhance the visibility of lane markings, pedestrian crosswalks, stop lines, and other pavement markings.

Signage, barricades and other traffic control devices will be used to direct motorists in the areas of the work. The City of Norman asks motorists for their patience and caution to ensure the safety of the workers. Typical work zones will only be in place for a few hours and traffic delays are expected to be minimal.

The project is funded with 100 percent federal funds. Direct Traffic Control is performing the work under the supervision of the Oklahoma Department of Transportation.
