Residents invited to give input on Ruby Grant Park Project Thursday

Norman residents are invited to attend a public meeting and provide input on proposed plans for the Ruby Grant Park Project at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 in Council Chambers at City Hall.

The meeting will begin with a presentation of the updated plans by design consultants Howell and Vancuren followed by public questions and comments. The current proposed design includes an addition to the Legacy Trail, picnic areas, a cross-country track, skate park, dog park, disc golf course and a proposed amphitheater as well as standard park amenities such as restrooms, picnic shelters and play areas.

The Ruby Grant Park Plan was adopted by Council on Jan. 22, 2008, and is a new Norman Forward Project. A Ruby Grant Park Ad Hoc Committee was formed to help with recommendations regarding conceptual design, final design, helping with public meetings and reporting on the progress of the construction.  The Ruby Grant Park Ad Hoc Committee has met twice to review the park plan and prioritize items and will be meeting several more times throughout the design process.

City Hall is located at 201 W. Gray St. For more information or questions, please contact the Norman Parks and Recreation Department at 405-366-5472.
