Profile for Bill Hickman
Councilmember Bill Hickman is not only a resident of Ward 4 but owns a business located in Ward 4 as well and as a result, understands the specific interests and concerns of Ward 4 residents. He is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, earned a MBA at Auburn University, and a law degree from the University of Oklahoma. Bill volunteers with Blue Thumb to help protect the urban waterways and is a proponent of stricture environmental protections. Prior to being elected as the Ward 4 Councilmember, Bill served on the Historic District Commission and participated in the Center City Visioning Project.
Ward Four encompasses Robinson Street to Lindsey Street with an east boundary of 12th Avenue West and a west boundary of Berry Road excluding the area north of Acres Street. It also includes a southwestern ‘leg’ south of Lindsey extending to Imhoff Road stretching between Berry Road and Chautauqua Avenue.
Bill has been involved with Rotary where he served as his club’s President. He also served as Chairman of the Good Shepherd School for Autism, Chairman of the Spahn Gala raising money for local youth initiatives, and the Jim Thorpe Executive Committee.
Councilmember Hickman serves as on the Community Planning and Transportation Committee. Bill is also an advocate for the Animal Welfare Center and serves as Council’s representative to the Animal Welfare Oversight Committee.
