North Leg of 60th Avenue SE/State Highway 9 East intersection to close Thursday

The north leg of the 60th Avenue SE/State Highway 9 East intersection will be closed temporarily beginning Thursday to allow for grading and paving the new intersection by a contractor for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT).

All other legs of the intersection will remain open. Signs will direct motorists in the area.

If weather permits, the grading, drainage, and paving operations should be completed within four weeks. When completed, the intersection will be open to traffic.

Construction on the SH-9E Reconstruction and Widening Project began in September 2015. The $22 million construction project was awarded to Silver Star Construction of Moore and is administered by ODOT. The project involves widening SH-9E to four lanes beginning just east of 36th Avenue SE and continuing to just east of 72nd Avenue SE as well as the construction of a new bridge across Dave Blue Creek.
