Norman City Council Meeting Rescheduled for Thursday

Due to the potential for severe weather this afternoon and evening, the City of Norman is cancelling Tuesday evening’s City Council study session and City Council meeting. The City Council will consider the April 26 agenda items at a special meeting Thursday evening at 6:30 pm in city hall at 201 W. Gray.

The cancellation was promoted by concerns that forecasted severe weather could present issues for the public to safely attend the City Council meeting to speak on items of interest.

“The safety of our residents is our priority and the timing of the City Council meeting this evening could put the public at risk should the severe weather arrive as it has been forecasted,” said City Manager Steve Lewis. “We prefer to reschedule the meeting so our residents don’t have to choose between attending the meeting and their safety.”

In addition, the City of Norman municipal court session scheduled for 4 p.m. today has been cancelled. Court dates or court appearances can be reset by contacting (405) 366-5325.
