Industrial Boulevard to close overnight Monday (April 9)

On Monday at 7 p.m., weather permitting, a contractor for the City of Norman will begin work on the relocation and upgrade of a 12-inch waterline along Rock Creek Road that crosses Industrial Boulevard. The work will require the closure of Industrial Boulevard just south of Rock Creek Road and will be done at night to minimize impacts to businesses in the area.

Emergency vehicle access will be maintained at all times during the waterline installation. The road will be completely reopened no later than 7 a.m. the following day using a temporary gravel surface. Permanent pavement patching will take place later in the week and will be done while maintaining two traffic lanes open at all times.

The relocation and upgrade of waterlines in the area are being done in advance of a future project that will widen and signalize the intersection of Rock Creek Road and 12th Avenue NW / Industrial Boulevard.
