Havenbrook Street reopened to traffic Thursday
Havenbrook Street reopened to vehicular and pedestrian traffic Thursday afternoon. The bridge on Havenbrook Street, east of 36th Avenue NW over Brookhaven Creek, was closed last September due to a collapse in the roadway. The final phase of the bridge repair project, which included the roadway and sidewalks, was completed Wednesday.
Public Works crews demolished the roadway and underlying pipes and installed nine new stormwater pipes after bridge engineers determined that the stormwater pipes under the roadway were corroded. Two of the pipes had collapsed allowing the roadway to settle by over two feet.
Questions about the Havenbrook project can be directed to the Norman’s stormwater engineer, Carrie Evenson at 366-5455.
