Food Handler’s Certification Class Scheduled for July 24

The Little Axe Community Center is hosting a food handler’s certification course on July 24 at 6:30 p.m. The course will be conducted by the Oklahoma State Department of Environmental Health.   

Registration begins at 6 p.m. The Little Axe Community Center is located at 1000 168th Avenue N. E., south of SH-9. 
The cost is $5 and the certification is valid for two years. Anyone working in a food establishment must have a food handler’s card for the county in which they work.  A food handler’s card is needed for high school students who may be seeking jobs in the food industry, those already employed in the food industry, cafeteria workers, or groups that work concessions for schools or the University of Oklahoma.  There is no age requirement but course registrants must be able to read and complete the on-site test.
