Berry Road Closed from north of Kansas to South of Acres to close

Berry Road from north of Kansas to south of Acres will close at 8 a.m. Monday (September 19) for the construction of two new waterlines from Main to Robinson. Warning and detour signs will be placed to assist motorists. Drivers are urged to use alternate routes such as Acres to Flood to Main to Berry or visa versa during the construction which is expected to last through approximately October 10, 2016.

The northbound lane of Berry Road will accommodate Norman High access but motorists should expect periodic closures of the northbound lane when adjacent construction activities require closure. Nebraska and Iowa streets will also be closed at their intersection with Berry Road.

Central Contracting Services, under contract with the Norman Utilities Authority and the University of Oklahoma, is currently installing the two new 16-inch waterlines.

The first phase of the improvements north and south of Robinson is essentially complete. The remaining work will require temporary closings of short segments of Berry Road and adjacent side streets as the construction moves northward from Main to Robinson.

Other street closures will be issued as required during project construction.

Weather permitting, the Berry Road Waterline Improvements and the new paving should be complete by December 2016.
