Job Description
Duties: 
Sports Supervisors will be required to arrive one (1) hour prior to the first scheduled game. Each Sports Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a gym facility and/or group of four (4) to six (6) ballfields. Pre-game responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Unlocking each facility or ball field; setting up equipment; unlocking restrooms; unlocking the umpire room; unlocking the concession stand; turning on lights; recording umpire attendance; and ensuring that all necessary equipment is in working order and ready for games. During games, responsibilities include: Addressing concerns and/or questions from officials, players, coaches, and parents; supervising and assisting officials; reporting to the Sports Coordinator and/or the Recreation Supervisor, and documenting any incidents that occur during games in which a player, spectator, or coach is removed; and processing necessary game reports (scores, pitch counts, game notes, etc) from officials following the conclusion of each game. Working Conditions: 
Work is performed outdoors and indoors. Work time will involve exposure to dirt, dust, extreme temperatures, and noise.
Job Requirements
Education and Experience: 
Applicant must be at least 18 years of age. High School diploma or equivalent and two years of progressively responsible sports experience. Supervisory experience preferred.
Knowledge: 
Reasonable knowledge of organized sports and rules; knowledge of emergency procedures.
Skills: 
Ability to deal effectively and cooperatively with people of all ages. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively lead subordinates, resolve complaints, and deal with day to day occurrences. Ability to collaborate with game officials, and to communicate with coaches and scorekeepers. Ability to interact with the public and have good decision making skills.
Mental & Physical: 
Ability to lift, carry, and push light (up to 25 lb.) supplies and equipment frequently. Work requires walking, running, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to maintain regular, predictable, and punctual attendance.
Additional Information: 

Approved applicants
are required to attend a Sports Supervisor meeting scheduled in January.  Applicants will not be compensated for this
meeting
.  January through March: most
games will be played on Saturdays. April through June and September through November:
most games will be played Monday—Friday, however weekend games may be
scheduled. Selected applicant must be available to work from January 3, 2018 to
approximately November 16, 2018. Selected applicants must pass a background investigation
and drug screen.
