All lanes of Main St. close at James Garner Ave. Wednesday, Thursday

All lanes of Main St. will be closed between James Garner Ave. and Jones Ave. from 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 through 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20 for emergency repairs to the railroad infrastructure by BNSF. James Garner Ave. and Jones Ave. traffic will not be affected. Signage, barricades, and a posted detour will be used to direct motorists and for the safety of the workers.  Drivers are encouraged to plan extra travel time or locate an alternate route.

Work will include the removal of the single main track from the roadway and the installation of a new 160-ft. track section. The repairs will also replace the concrete crossing panels with new panels for the full width of the roadway. These repairs are expected to permanently fix the chronic railroad infrastructure failure that has often reduced Main St. to two lanes.
