Residents invited to attend Ward 8 Meeting this Sunday

Councilmember
Alexandra Scott invites Norman residents to attend a Ward 8 meeting on Sunday,
September 29, at Firehouse No. 7 (2207 Goddard Avenue) from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m.
The major topics of discussion will be the One Eighth Percent Public
Transportation Sales Tax vote on November 12 and the Norman Regional Health
System’s INSPIRE Health plan.  

Monday Lane Closure – 24th Avenue NW (Boardwalk to Robinson Street)

Beginning on Monday, September 30, 2019, certain lanes of 24th
Avenue NW, from Boardwalk to Robinson Street, will be closed in phases for an
intersection modification and traffic signalization project at the 24th
Avenue NW and Tee Drive-Tee Circle intersection. At least one lane of 24th

Upcoming Lane Closures – West Robinson Street (Brookhaven Creek to 36th Avenue NW) – will Begin Next Week

The
Norman Utilities Authority (NUA) is in process of the replacing approximately
six miles of large diameter water line (WL) along Robinson Street. This WL
delivers water from the Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in east Norman to the
Brookhaven Storage Tower and our customers in west Norman. The WL is 45 years
old and is made of ductile iron pipe that has deteriorated. Recent pipe

Fall Residential Clean Up Dates

The City of Norman’s residential
fall clean up kicks off Saturday, September 28, and runs through October 26
according to the following schedule.

Intersection of Lindsey Street and Ed Noble Parkway to be all-way stop Tuesday

The intersection of Lindsey Street and Ed Noble Parkway
will be an all-way stop from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday. Stop signs will be in
place while the traffic signal controller cabinet replacement is completed.
Drivers should plan extra travel time or locate an alternate route. This
project is weather permitting.
