All lanes of Lahoma Ave. close at Iowa St. Wednesday, Jan. 16

All lanes of Lahoma Ave. will be closed to through traffic between Iowa St. and Dakota St. beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16 for underground drainage system installation and roadway construction. Work on this project is expected to be completed on Feb. 27 weather permitting. Detour signs will be in place, and drivers are encouraged to plan extra travel time.

Annual Mayor’s Interfaith Breakfast scheduled for January 21

Mayor Lynne Miller and the Norman Human Rights Commission invite the Norman community to the annual Mayor’s Interfaith Breakfast honoring the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on Monday, Jan. 21 at 8:30 a.m.

Legacy Park Pond to be drained beginning Tuesday

Legacy Park Pond, located at 1898 Legacy Park Dr., will be drained beginning Tuesday, Jan. 8 for maintenance, including the installation of wildlife safety ramps. Water removal will be completed over the course of a few days, and the pond will remain empty through early March while work is ongoing. A temporary fence will be in place around the pond during this time.

E. Gray St. closed for tree removal

All lanes of E. Gray St. are closed between N. Findlay Ave. and N. Stewart Ave. due to a tree in the roadway. Crews are working on removal, and the closure is expected to last several hours. Drivers should avoid the area and locate an alternate route.
