Holiday Schedule for Sanitation Services

The City of Norman’s sanitation services will be closed Monday for the Christmas holiday and Jan. 1 for New Year’s Day.  All sanitation services will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week following both holidays. This includes household trash collection, recycling, yard waste collection and commercial services.

All lanes of traffic on West Lindsey Street to be opened by end of the day Friday

Traffic control devices on West Lindsey Street will be removed during the day Friday and all lanes will be opened to traffic by the end of the day. The intersections of 24th Avenue SW, McGee Drive, Wiley Road, and Berry Road on West Lindsey Street will be included. 

SH-9, I-35 off ramp concrete panel repairs start Wednesday

At 7 a.m. Wednesday morning the outside lane of State Highway 9 towards I-35 will close starting at 24th Avenue SW for replacement of damaged concrete panels. Traffic will be allowed from all directions at all times onto 24th Avenue SW. 

On the same day, the southbound I-35 off ramp to Lindsey Street will be narrowed to one lane for repairs to sections of damaged pavement

East Cedar Lane Road closed west of Classen Boulevard

BNSF Railway Company is making emergency repairs to their railroad crossing on East Cedar Lane Road, west of Classen Boulevard.  East Cedar Lane Road will be closed in both directions while this work is taking place.  This work is expected to last through the end of the week. 

Work Resumes on Traffic Signal at 36th Avenue NW and Havenbrook Street

On Monday work will resume on the construction of a new traffic signal at the intersection of 36th Avenue NW and Havenbrook Street.  The widening of 36th Avenue NW to accommodate the signalization was completed in June 2017. The signalization phase should be complete by the end of the year.
