City of Norman to Host 15th Annual Earth Day Festival

The City of Norman will host its 15th Annual Earth Day Festival on Sunday, April 24 from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Reaves Park. Reaves Park is located on Jenkins Avenue between Lindsey Street and state Highway 9 East.

Norman Fire Department to offer advanced level of emergency care starting Thursday

The Norman Fire Department’s medical first responders are now certified for, and will begin to provide, advanced level of emergency care, in addition to the basic level medical care currently provided. The new increased level of emergency care will begin Thursday.

Jenkins to temporarily close Sunday night through Monday morning

Jenkins Avenue between Lindsey Street and Stinson Street will be closed to traffic Sunday at 11 p.m. and will reopen at 7 a.m. on Monday. The one-night temporary closure allows further progress on a phase of construction of a new parking garage for the University of Oklahoma.

East and Central Library Ad Hoc Group and Library Public Meeting Rescheduled

The NORMAN FORWARD East and Central Library Ad Hoc Group meeting scheduled for Monday has been cancelled and will be rescheduled for a date in May. Additionally, the public meeting also scheduled for Monday to discuss the Central and East Libraries will be rescheduled for May.

Northbound I-35 Lindsey Street off-ramp to close Monday

The northbound Interstate 35 Lindsey Street off-ramp will close Monday so a contractor for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) can reconstruct the state Highway 9 to northbound I-35 on-ramp. The detour for the closure is SH-9E to 24th Avenue SW.

Signs will be placed in the area to direct motorists.
