Councilmember Alexandra Scott

An Oklahoma Native, Councilmember Alexandra Scott graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a B.A. in Classical Studies and completed her Master's degree in Public Administration with an emphasis on Non-Profit Management during her first year on City Council.  Alex's passion for politics came about when she was completing her undergraduate degree and serving in the Student Government Association at OU where she became familiar with parliamentary procedure, and the policy making process at the university. She became further motivated to serve her community while working as a teacher through educational activism where she served in different capacities for several years.

Councilmember Scott began her official service with the City of Norman as Councilmember for Ward Eight on July 3, 2018.  Ward Eight includes the northwest portion of the City with boundaries of the City limits on the north side.  South of Rock Creek Road between 36th Avenue West and 12th Avenue East with Robinson Street being the southern boundary.  It also includes a small area south of Robinson Street between Westwood Park and Flood Avenue.

She is a four year resident of Ward Eight and loves traveling with her dogs.

Councilmember Scott is energetic and excited for this opportunity to serve the citizens of Ward 8.  She serves on the Council Oversight Committee and the Finance Committee and also serves as Council’s representative to the Oklahoma Municipal League Legislative Committee.
